With the help of family members, friends, research on the Web and some interresting personal websites, I was able to trace back my roots up to Jean Prou. My family tree now has 85590 individuals.

Most of the Proulx family genealogical information on this site, comes from one of the six Dictionaries published by Mr. Antonin Proulx. He made some research on six of the Prou ancestors that arrived here at the begining of the colonization.

My ancestor origin

In the winter of 2003, Mr. Antonin Proulx and Mr. Pierre Proulx wrote a very interessting article in the "L'Ancêtre" magazine, published by "La Société de généalogie de Québec", regarding the outcome of their research about Jean Prou(st). This article explains their approach to trace the origins of our ancestors in France.

In the fall of 2004, they issue a second article, this time regarding the close relatives of Jean Prou(st).

In February 2008, Mr. Pierre Proulx kindly sent me copies of these two articles with his approval to display them on my site. You can now view them using the following links :

The work of Antonin Proulx

In april 2008, Mr. Pierre Proulx, sent me a copy of the complete work of Mr. Antonin Proulx. This impressive document is the result of his genealogical work over the last 15 years. This document is divided in two parts: the dictionary and the annexes.
